3RD ANNUAL SUMMIT 2016

 

The 3rd Annual ECDE summit 2016 was held 17th to 19th May 2016 at Jumuia Hotel in Kisumu County and was a unique opportunity for the stakeholders and government to debate on early childhood. Development education and policies required with focus on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the establishment of the means of realizing the agenda on quality education as well as poverty and inequality reduction within the communities by exploring the desired policy, institutional/investments frameworks for reducing poverty and inequalities including critical world dimension in providing ECDE.

The summit which was themed “POST-2015 GLOBAL POLICY AGENDA: EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT AS A FOUNDATION FOR SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT” was attended by over 200 delegates including County Assemblies Members of the committee on Child, Early Childhood Education, Youth, Sport and Cultures, Professionals , Researchers , Teachers, Development Partners, Students, Education/Financial Institutions/Colleges/Universities.

 

It was officially graced by Kisumu County Governor then HE Hon Jack Ranguma (Who was then the Chairperson of Council of Governors Committee on Health), Then Nominated Senator Hon Daisy K. Nyongesa representing Senate Committee on Education, Mr. Hesbon Otieno who represented Kenya National Union of Teachers (KNUT), Mrs Benter Opande (National ECDE Coordinator KNUT) among other important guest.
