1ST ANNUAL SUMMIT 2013

Karen Christian College through its department of Early Childhood Development and Education Teachers Training hosted a two days summit which brought all together members of the County Assembly Committees on Education and Vocational Training and representatives from different education and development sectors with the theme of "UNDERSTANDING EARLY CHILDHOOD DEVELOPMENT AND EDUCATION IN THE CONTEXT OF DEVOLVED GOVERNMENT STRUCTURES IN KENYA"

The summit was aimed at enhancing the quality, accessible and equitable provision and distribution of services for children through more efficient partnership and capacity building within various counties in Kenya as provided by the new Kenya Constitution 2010. The summit was made possible with the sponsorship with of NORAD through Pentecostal Foreign Mission of Norway in cooperation with Free Pentecostal Fellowship in Kenya Church (FPFK).

 

The summit came up with some vital recommendations which were adopted by many counties to fast-track education development in the counties.  After strong two days engagement, 2013 summit adopted a National Coccus which was to bring together 47 County Assemblies Committee on Education to deliberate and see the proper and comprehensive implementation of the ECDE as schedule in the Kenya Constitution 2010, and that was the birth of Competence Building Society of Early Childhood Education for Kenya (CBSECEK).
